Building A Career At South Bay Construction (SBC)

South Bay Construction is a small company that builds really big things, and we’ve got the track record to show for it. Our projects are one of the many aspects that attracts people to come work for us since we’re one of the few companies of our size taking on projects of the scale and complexity that we do. They come for the projects and stay for the culture.

South Bay Construction is hiring!

That’s right, we’re hiring! Construction is hard work, but it can also be a lot of fun. At South Bay Construction, we make sure it is by providing highly competitive pay and benefits, a supportive culture, and an opportunity to grow. We’re grateful that more than 70% of our employees have been with SBC for over a decade.

“I can honestly say I am excited to go to work every day. My door is typically joked about being revolving since I can have anyone at any time from any department in my office asking for my assistance. I love this because it keeps my days interesting and makes me feel satisfied in being able to help anyone that comes my way.” – Jenny Mata, Office Manager

What perks does South Bay Construction offer employees?

Longevity is important to us, so we provide guidance and opportunities for all employees to grow and establish successful, long-term careers. We also provide a fun, relaxing, and accommodating workplace environment that includes a gym, onsite car wash service, a fully stocked self-serve kitchen, an employee lounge and breakroom, plus a full benefits package including PTO and paid holidays.

I just started working at SBC! What should I expect?

South Bay Construction is a close knit, collaborative, and efficient workplace. When you first start working here we start with basic training and general office protocol, and we get you set up with South Bay swag, a computer, and mobile devices. Once you’ve been acclimated the first few weeks, we get you involved in projects and start integrating you into a team.

Because of our size and approach to work, we don’t just limit you to one aspect of a project, having you do one repetitive task over and over. You’re going to be exposed to the full scope of a project and, depending on your role, you may very well even split your time between the office and out in the field.

For the first six to twelve months, you can expect to be consistently exposed to new aspects of the construction industry. You’ll have close guidance from our team and your peers, and you’ll get a lot of great feedback and opportunities to learn.

What are the hours like?

We don’t really have anyone working more than 40 hours a week. Sometimes doing a bit extra is par for the course, but we pride ourselves in maintaining a good work life balance.

What are you waiting for? Join our team!

If you’re interested in joining the SBC family, we’d love to hear from you. We are always interested to see who is looking for a new career opportunity as a:

  • Project Manager
  • Superintendent
  • Project Engineer
  • Project Coordinator
  • Project Accountant
  • Field Laborer

Contact us here – Join the Team, or email hr@sbci.com Attn: Human Resources.
