Thinfilm

Thinfilm contracted SBC to revamp their newly occupied semiconductor fabrication (fab) plant with a new 2,000sf Class 1000 cleanroom and chemical treatment facility. They brought the outdated building up-to-date with open concept spaces, exposed ceilings, polished concrete floors, huge common rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, and glass doors that open into large outdoor areas. The roof had to be completely redone, which was quite a challenge with all the winter rain the Bay Area endured.

The existing fab was contaminated which required decommissioning the equipment, cleaning the space, and coordination between the project team and the San Jose Fire Department and Hazmat teams to get the space back to pristine conditions. The end result was a dynamic, sophisticated space that perfectly met Thinfilm’s functional needs.
